Meet our founders

Mammoth is led by its two co-founders, Maryana and Jessica, who work personally on every project, supported by a full team of designers, project managers and builders. Maryana leads the design, and Jessica runs the build. Both hold a Master of Architecture.

Maryana's work has been featured at MoMA, the Whitney and the New Museum, and she's worked on the Saks Fifth Avenue flagships. Jessica has spent more than twenty years building for names like Waterworks, Maman and Robert Marc, and has led over fifty renovations across Manhattan and Brooklyn.

From their studio in Dumbo, they design for the way New Yorkers actually live. Their homes are warm and tailored, with custom millwork that makes a New York apartment feel larger than it is, and that lets the character of the building come through.

Our process

1. Discovery

It starts with a call with one of our founders, where we get to know your project, your space, and what matters most to you. From there, they walk your home with you in person, joined by one of our designers. Together, we put your budget behind what you'll value most, so the home is everything you want it to be, with nothing wasted. You'll come away with a clear proposal: the scope, the pricing and the timeline.

2. Design & Permitting

We start from your taste, how you live, and what you're drawn to. Then Maryana, our co-founder and design lead, works with our design team to bring your vision to life and take it further than you could alone, down to every detail: the layout, the finishes, the custom millwork. Once you've approved the design, we handle the co-op and condo boards, the alteration agreements, the DOB and Landmarks filings. We've worked with these boards for years and know precisely what each one requires, so we get them approved and keep it all off your plate.

Bathroom with a glass walk-in shower and an oak vanity with a carved grey marble sink
3. Build & Move-In

Then Jessica, our co-founder and construction lead, runs the build with our own in-house crew and the specialty trades we've worked with for years. Someone from our team is on site full-time, making sure it's built exactly the way it was designed. You get frequent updates, and you walk the project with us at each key stage. At the end, our founders walk the whole home together to make sure every detail is right. Then it's cleaned and finished, and handed over ready for you to move into and enjoy for years to come.

Brooklyn Commercial Loft Renovation

“I feel very fortunate to have chosen Mammoth Projects to design my kitchen project. I came into our meeting with some very basic ideas of what I wanted, and some specific design elements that I needed. Maryana had the talent to meld the two into one cohesive design, that worked beautifully in the space. She has a very elevated aesthetic that added layers of beauty and sensibility to the project.

She is impressive in the way that she handles every detail of the process, from getting bids, to leveling bids, to making sure that the contractor's work meets her standards. She was a pleasure to work with and I hope to work with her again in the future.”

"Maryana Grinshpun had exceptionally valuable design suggestions for me. Her ideas made all the difference in the remodel of my one-bedroom condominium unit in a Brownstone building in Brooklyn. I love it! She had endless contacts for getting the work done. She listened to me, helped me figure things out time and again, and was extremely responsive."

"Mammoth Projects helped us to complete a remodel and interior decoration project. They were particularly good at helping us to translate what was a somewhat vague concept of what we wanted into a concrete plan, walking us through many options and iterating the design based on our reactions. She pushed us to consider options we would not have entertained, but which turned out to be perfect in the space. We were incredibly happy with the final result & would highly recommend Mammoth Projects."
